I’ll be happy when…

Are you a victim of the “I’ll be happy when”?

I’ve definitely been a victim of this in the past. I used to think I’ll be happy when I got to travel to a certain number of places on my bucket list or when I would make a certain amount of money.

In the past When I was developing apps, I used to think, “I will be happy when my App crosses 10k downloads on Playstore or when I earn my first $100,” To be honest, it was exciting on a large scale, but when I work for it and achieve it, then it became more obvious. I was happy, but It was not the level of Happiness, I expected at the Start. Then I thought, “I’ll be happy when it crosses 50k,” but again, the same story. It was like a loop that was delaying my Happiness.

“I’ll be happy when” is a never-ending thinking process. There is nothing wrong with it, but the word “when” kills real Happiness. It’s human nature to keep wanting more. We keep delaying our Happiness to future accomplishments when we can just choose to be happy right now.

I am not saying you shouldn’t have any goals or targets in your life. You should have targets, but don’t follow them just to find Happiness.

Happiness is a state of mind. If your present situation is not good enough, try to change it; if it’s not in your hand, then don’t allow it to spoil your mood.

Just go for a walk, talk with your favorite person and enjoy the moment. You will be happy.

Live happier now :)

Peace
